Queer Work, Real Talk: Hoya Voices in the LGBTQ+ Space

Join us for a panel featuring Hoyas making a difference in LGBTQ+ spaces. Panelists will share their journeys, challenges, and successes working with the LGBTQ+ community. This event provides a unique opportunity to learn from them and engage in a Q&A session. Whether you’re considering a similar path or just interested in LGBTQ+ advocacy, this event is for you! Meet our amazing panelists:

Scout Cardillo, C'27 (they/them), founder and executive director of Bulletproof Pride, a national LGBTQIA+ youth-led organization addressing gun violence.

Orlando Gonzales, C'98 (he/el/they), an experienced nonprofit executive focused on LGBTQ human rights and equity, most recently at the Human Rights Campaign.

Lauren Reese, C'12 (she/her), a strategist and program leader of social impact programs, currently at the Trevor Project, a suicide prevention and mental health organization for LGBTQ+ youth in the U.S. and Mexico.

Amita Swadhin, SFS'00 (they/them), founder of Mirror Memoirs, a national storytelling and organizing project intervening in rape culture by uplifting the narratives, healing and leadership of transgender, intersex, non-binary and/or queer Black, Indigenous and of color survivors of child sexual abuse; and co-leader of ChangeRaisers, a fundraising capacity building training for nonprofits working for the collective good.

Sponsored by Hoyas with Pride, Hoyas in Health, and the Hoya Social Impact Alliance.
